The Tooth Fairy and the Baby Elf… A True Story by Granny

Readers' Favorite “Cindy OBrien's picture book story, The Tooth Fairy and the Baby Elf ... A True Story by Granny, is a rollicking tale, full of fun, adventure, fairies and elves and a little girl named Chloe. The plot develops well, and the characters are described with fun and care. The illustrations are lovely and set the tone for the story. Young readers will enjoy reading about Chloe's Tooth Fairy adventures, and they'll share a few laughs as they learn, as did Chloe, that things don't always happen when and how they should. We have to adjust to changes and unexpected obstacles presented to us in life and find something humorous to make things all right again. This is a charming story, full of warmth, love and a little bit of humor and adventure.” Emily-Jane Hills Orford

Fairies and Elves DO Exist! Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2021

Accomplished Author/Book Review: The Tooth Fairy and the Baby Elf by Cynthia Kern O'Brien.
Fairies and Elves DO exist! They generate excitement, teach lessons, and keep promises.
A story of the closeness between a granddaughter and her grandma. Chole, the main character, shares her excitement and fears about losing a tooth with her grandma. Granny coaches Chloe, via Facetime, on wiggling, jiggling, and where to put this tooth once out. Chloe does everything Granny suggests including placing the tooth under her pillow. Upon waking the next morning Chloe doesn't find a gift from the Tooth Fairy. Surprised, sad and wanting Granny to know. Granny's imagination along with her "circle of friends" gives life to Gwen the Fairy; and a Baby Elf. Her closeness with Chloe shares teamwork, anticipation and coping.

An adorable story that touches on enjoying magic and maturing with the mythical. While there's mixed feelings about imaginative characters, this story cultivates a child's giving spirit, how to be comforted, origins of larger-than-life special helpers than teach children why it's okay to believe. This book is delightful and beautifully illustrated. Appropriate for ages 4 to 9.
